AI, aimed at a specific job you can name.

There is a lot being sold under the word AI right now, most of it to businesses that need something simpler and cheaper first. Here is where it genuinely earns its money, and where we will tell you not to bother.

THE PROBLEM

Where AI genuinely helps.

The test is simple: repetitive work that needs a little judgement, but not much, and where a person still checks the output before it matters.

You answer the same twenty questions every week. Different customers, same questions, every time.

Enquiries need sorting before anyone can act. Reading each one to decide urgency and who handles it.

You write the same document repeatedly. A proposal, a report, a summary: same shape, different details.

Information is buried in messages. Months of WhatsApp and email holding answers nobody can find.

Customers wait overnight for simple answers. Straightforward questions arriving after hours.

Someone spends hours moving data between systems. Copying, reformatting, re-entering.

WHY IT MATTERS

The honest version, including where it does not help.

AI is very good at a narrow set of things: producing a first draft, summarising a lot of text, sorting and classifying, and answering questions when the answers already exist somewhere. For work of that shape it is genuinely transformative, and it is now cheap enough that small businesses can use it.

It is bad at anything requiring accountability. Final decisions, pricing, client relationships, anything with legal or financial consequence. It is confidently wrong often enough that unchecked output is a real risk. AI drafts. A person still signs.

And there is a sequencing problem nobody selling AI wants to mention: automating a broken process just breaks it faster. If your enquiries are not being captured properly, an AI assistant will not save you: a working CRM will, for less money. We will say that even when it means recommending the smaller job.

We also use AI heavily to run Banks Solution itself: research, drafting, build work, project management. That is not a marketing line; it is the reason one focused operator can deliver at the pace of a much larger team, and it is why we can talk about this honestly rather than theoretically.

The short version

If someone is selling you AI without first asking what your process looks like, they are selling you software, not a solution.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

What we build.

Always aimed at a specific, named job, never “AI” as a general upgrade.

It answers and sorts

Customer question assistant

Trained on your actual services, pricing and policies, answering the routine questions instantly and handing anything unusual to a person.

Enquiry sorting and routing

Incoming messages read, categorised by urgency and type, and sent to the right person with a summary attached.

It reads and writes

Document drafting

First drafts of the documents you produce repeatedly, built from your own templates and previous examples.

Summarising and extraction

Long threads, documents or transcripts turned into the specific facts you need pulled out.

Content support

Drafting and repurposing for the knowledge and social content you should be publishing but never have time for.

It connects to what you run

Custom builds

When existing software genuinely does not fit, a purpose-built tool for your specific process, including internal dashboards and portals.

Integration work

Connecting systems that were never designed to talk to each other, so data stops being carried by hand.

A person still signs it off

A human check in the loop

Every AI process we build has a defined point where a person reviews before anything reaches a customer or a decision.

HOW IT WORKS

How it runs.

Deliberately small first. We would rather prove one thing works than promise a transformation.

Audit

We find the repetitive work and measure roughly what it costs you in hours. If nothing meets the bar, we say so. That is a legitimate outcome.

Pick one job

One specific, contained task with a measurable result. Not a strategy, not a platform. One job.

Build and test

Built and tested against real examples from your business, including the awkward ones, until the output is reliable enough to trust.

Run alongside

It runs in parallel with your existing way of working while you check it. Nothing is switched over on faith.

Adopt, then extend

Once it has proved itself, we move to the next job. Compounding small wins beats one large promise.

FIT

Who this is for, and who it isn’t.

We would rather turn work down than take on a job that was never going to succeed.

This is for you if

  • You can name the repetitive task and roughly how long it takes
  • Your process works. It is just manual
  • You accept that AI output needs a human check
  • You want a contained, provable result before scaling up

This is not for you if

  • You want AI because it sounds like the right thing to have
  • The underlying process is broken or undefined
  • You expect it to replace judgement or accountability
  • Nobody has time to review the output during setup

PRICING

What it costs.

Custom builds are priced per project, once we know exactly what you need automated. Banks Business Engine, our own AI customer-engagement platform, is moving to simple monthly plans as it finishes rolling out.

Two ways this works

A one-off assistant or integration is quoted after the audit, like any other project. Banks Business Engine, the platform behind the demo on our homepage, will be available on a monthly subscription once it is out of active development, so you are never locked into a large upfront build for it. Ask us where things stand.

QUESTIONS

Straight answers.

We build on established AI models rather than training one from scratch. That would be enormously expensive and worse. The value is in connecting it to your information, your process and your systems, with proper checks around it. The model is a component, not the product.

It can, which is why we constrain it to your actual documented information, test it hard against real awkward cases, and design a defined handover to a person for anything it is not confident about. Any provider claiming it will never be wrong is not being straight with you.

It depends on the setup, and it is a question you should ask every provider. We use business-tier services with data-handling terms that prevent your information being used to train public models, and we tell you exactly what goes where before anything is built.

We estimate the hours the task consumes now before starting, and measure against that. If we cannot describe the saving in advance in terms you find credible, that is a reason not to do the project.

Almost always no. If enquiries are not being captured reliably, that is the problem to solve first, and it is usually cheaper. We would rather sell you the smaller correct job than the larger wrong one.

The next step

Find out whether AI is your next move, or a distraction.

If your business is running on manual work, or your website isn’t producing anything, the first move isn’t committing to a build. It’s understanding precisely what’s not working.

Applications are reviewed for fit. If we’re not the right people for your problem, we’ll tell you plainly.
